Hello Sandra
I think I would make similar drapes of fondant like in an ombre cake but without the frilling. Attach all the cut out pieces of fondant and then using the veining tool blend all the strips together to appear like rouching. Use the stitching tool every now and then to make the fondant fabric appear slightly hitched. Lustre dust would make it stand out. Any good?? xx Oh it would help if you had a piece of rouching to look at or perhaps look at google images of rouched cakes.
Okay will think about that one, although the cakes I’ve looked at look as though the ruching has been done with one piece 🙂 thank you x
Perhaps that is done by scoring the icing to resemble ruching. I really ought to start experimenting with some of this new stuff! To me ruching means elasticated stitching the old fashioned way, dear oh dear me!! x
