I intend to make Paul’s huddle cake as a rugby team. I’d like to include rugby posts at the end of the rectangular drum board. Can anyone suggest how I should make the posts and attach them?

The posts could be made with plastic dowels. To stick them to the cake drum make rectangular blocks with gumpaste and stick them down on the drum with some sugar glue. Insert the upright poles into the blocks. Use another dowel for the crossbar and stick it to the upright poles with royal icing or melted white chocolate. Support the crossbar until firmed up.
