Merry Christmas everyone. Trust you all had fun yesterday. Please can someone give me a very good recipe for a red velvet cake and what colouring is good to get the nice bright red. Many thanks in advance.

I find ProGel colours the best for intensity, the ruby produces excellent red colour. Sugarflair is another good make. I would suggest using gels and pastes rather than liquid as advised here http://www.goodtoknow.co.uk/recipes/523441/natural-red-velvet-cake
