Shelf life of defrosted cake

Hi
Is it ok to defrost a cake decorate it and keep it on shelf for 2-3 days or this shelf life is only for fresh cakes? I have to make moist chocolate cake tomorrow and will use it next week , probably it will be on shelf for two days.

Thanks

Hi neha28

Defrosted moist chocolate cake will be fine for several days under ganache or butter cream and sugar paste. Once decorated all the moisture is held in and the sugars in the ganache or butter cream and sugar paste act as preservative. Although fresh moist chocolate cake is said to have shelf life of 5 days, it does keep longer.
