stacked ball cake

Hi, I need to stack a ball cake on top of a 10″ round cake and then there is going to be a model sat on top of the ball. I have 2 questions! Do I just stack the ball cake on top of the round cake as I would normally (ie flatten bottom slightly then use a card and dowels)? Or do I need a centre dowel through the whole thing? Also do I need a cake card inbetween the 2 halves of the ball?
2nd question! (sorry!) I’m going to make the model as with the armeture method of paul’s anniversary cake. Would you make the whole model on wires then stick it in or just top half then attach legs separately?!
It is being collected not delivered so I’m just really worried about stability and it getting there in one piece!
Thanks so very much for any help and guidance would be massively appreciated! x

Hello, Paul has never made a full ball cake made of cake, he uses a half dummy cake then a real cake on top. You can buy the half sphere dummies from dummies direct . Paul would recommend a central dowel for safety reasons!!! As for the model, Paul would make it the same way as Emma does using all wire and just stick the model in once finished. Hope this helps, Kind regards David
