How long will sponge cake keep in the fridge or is it better to freeze it

Light sponge like Victoria sandwich will keep for approximately three days before beginning to stale, Some chocolate cakes like Paul’s recipe will be fine for five days and sometimes more. I’ve had chocolate mud cake keep for ten + days. Dense cakes like madeira have the longest shelf life. All should be wrapped up and kept in air tight containers because fridges can dry cakes out. If you intend to keep a cake for longer it is better to freeze. Freezing can actually make cakes more moist.
