Hi Annabel

I found these links which show clear pictures http://cakecentral.com/g/i/2235084/digger-construction-cake-chocolate-cake-with-chocolate-shavings-as-the-dirt-the-digger-is-fondant-with-dowel-support-for-the-bucket-arm. Or this http://www.coolest-birthday-cakes.com/construction-vehicle-cake-27.html and this http://cakecentral.com/g/i/2171533/bucket-dredger-digger/flat/. I know it’s difficult, I need to make something similar and find these pictures do give a good idea how to make the arms. I haven’t been able to find a tutorial, I’ll keep looking and will post if I find something.

I’ve also found a similar question on this site so just put into the search box 3D digger Cake and the answers given may be of help.

hi, just let anyone know x i tried useing fondent mixed with tylo powder shaped, dried and had wire through it but it never worked it was to heavy then i trien crispy treat that too was heavy so i then got polystyrene shaped it, smoothed it then dabbed some water over it and covered it in fondent then smoothed, it was fiddly but very light, then put thick wire at each end and attached to the digger body then to the base of the claw that dig’s up everything dab of water at each end then it dried and never broke of loosened when deliverd, customer was really happy and so was i as i then got a sleep after week’s of worry about this digger cake hahaha, hope it make’s sence xxx
