Tall Cakes
Hi
I was wondering if you have any tips on covering a Tall cake, it will be 7inchs high. I have never covered a cake so high and worried I will bugger it up.
i am in Australia and use Bakels Fondant, do you think I should use another brand.

This is the method I use:
It’s a lot easier than trying to lift the fondant up and over. Cover the top of the cake separately and seal the two edges together with a damp finger using a gentle stroking action.
I sometimes decorate the edge with a snail trail or a piped pearl border. There are lots of other ways you can conceal the edge apart from my suggestion. I don’t know what the bakels brand is like, I have read it’s quite good, but no first hand experience of it. How about placing your question on this site:
