Hello amy21simm

I’ve had a look at the tartan, there are several patterns for that clan. I’ve also had a look at the kilted groom tutorial where Paul says to look at the back ground colour and then add the other colours to give an impression. If you search in youtube ‘how to make a tartan pattern in fondant’ there is another tutorial there. I’ve also had a look at the link provided by doodlecake and there is a transfer sheet which looks just like the MacThomas tartan, see it here http://www.rainbowsugarcraft.co.uk/shop/Edible_Tartan_Sheets.htm. I know you can use transfer sheets on fondant so there is no reason why it can’t be folded and draped. The site in the link can supply the exact tartan providing it isn’t under copyright. I think it’s worth a go. If you google or search in youtube ‘how to use transfer sheets on fondant’ there are several tutorials on how to do it. I hope this helps. x

Hi amy21simm

You could use food colour pens or paint them on. Is there a name for this tartan and can it be seen online any where? It’s difficult to say the best method of colouring without knowing what it looks like. It can be done so have no worries about that just need a wee bit more info.

You can buy several designs of chocolate transfer sheets in tartan and they can be transferred on fondant with a craft iron
