Welcome to the Cake Decorators Q&A
Tea cup
I have made a gum paste tea cup but I would like it to look as if there is tea in it, could you tell me how to achieve this please. Nicky 223.

Hi Nicky223
Take a peek here for a tutorial: http://www.junipercakery.co.uk/blog/tutorial-edible-teacu/
Another way is to fill the cup with a round of sponge cake loosely covered in a very thin layer of tea coloured icing. Some shading with different light browns and creams would bring the ‘tea’ to life. Sponge cake would be lighter in weight inside the cup. Hope this helps.
EDIT
Shade the icing while it is still fresh. Use a soft round brush and sort of dab with the different colours so it looks like light is dancing on the liquid. Make any sense?
Thank you, I will use method.
Nicky.
You’re welcome Nicky, hope it all works out well.
