Welcome to the Cake Decorators Q&A

Hi , I’ve been asked to make an 18th birthday cake for a girl who loves monkeys!! I’m kinda thinking the teddy bear cake is a good start….but has anyone done this?, got any pictures I can copy and/or any tips for me including colours ? , Bit nervous cos this is the first “friend of a friend’ request so feels a bit more “official” !!!

Teddy cake is a very good place to start! If you go into google images you’ll see lots of pictures and some ‘how to’ which will help you on the way. I think the teddy head would have to be made slightly rounder and the arms could either be made of fondant as Paul has done or if you want them to be more obvious they could be made from rice krispie treats and covered with plain brown icing. Have a peek at google. x
