Welcome to the Cake Decorators Q&A
Tiffany lamp shade icing colour
I just wondered why Paul did not colour the fondant for the base of the lamp brown, rather than painting white fondant brown afterwards, the painting process looks slow, I would think colouring the fondant first would be quicker?
Also, where are the butterfly moulds from?
thanks

Hello Sue-Wales
I think Paul wanted the colour to have a more translucent feel about it which wouldn’t be achieved with a block brown colour. He also wanted a particular shade of brown (chestnut).
The butterfly moulds are made by Karen Davis and are available from many online suppliers, here is one

The cake decorating company in Nottingham and Amazon both have it, keep an eye on the prices because they do vary. I’m kicking myself for not buying the mould from my local cake supplier who was selling them off for £5.00 as a discontinued item!
