Topsy Turvy cake

I started doing the topsy turvy cake yesturday and in the first lesson Paul says to cut the 6 inch cake down to 2 inches. So i did this and it was tiny. I then watched on and in the lesson where he stacks the top cake he is measuring out 3 inches on top to place the dowels in. Which is the correct size to carve it down to? I’m guessing 3 inches and the first lesson was a slip up when he said 2 inches as my top cake is not tiny.
Thanks

Hi Clarabelito

I haven’t done this cake so can’t really say, however, by looking at the video it does look like 3″ and you may be right. I know other members have made this cake and hopefully they will help out. You can of course email [email protected] with you query for an exact answer. Hope this helps.
