Vanilla cake good for carving

Hi everyone,

Does anyone have a good vanilla cake recipe that won’t crumble or collapse when carved?

Any advice would be great, thanks!

Hi, I use an Alan Dunn high density sponge which has never let me down. It is an all-in-one method which I love.
The following recipe is for an 8” round tin.
SR flour 400g
sugar 450g
Butter 400g
eggs(cracked)400g
water 56ml
Put everything together and mix. Cook for approx. 90 mins on 160.
