I am making a lemon and raspbery cake with fresh raspberries in the batter. Do i really need to wash the raspberries ?? The cake will be eaten tomorrow and will also contain raspberry conserve in the batter and filling
I normally ‘wash’ raspberries with a small artist’s brush dipped in a clear alcohol like vodka. This helps to rid the berries of any bacteria and dirt without getting them sodden.
