Hi kathy

All you can do is keep it in a cool room, I know it’s difficult and I think most people are having the same problem. I find running a fan helps dry the fondant out. My models, I put in the airing cupboard, and definitely it helps to roll out on something like a very cool board. I have granite work tops, they’re very cold so no problems with rolling out. I’ve also read that some times it helps to add a little gum trag to the fondant . I don’t know how much, perhaps someone else will have more advice??? for the time being, a cool room and a fan. G’d luck with it. x

Hi Kathy,

Madeitwithlove is right i would use a cool room, and a fan if you have one. gum tex can make the fondant too dry and cause it to crack, so i would avoid that is you can. best thing is just to keep the room cool. good luck 🙂

I just keep mine in the coldest room. This has been my first summer properly doing cakes. My livingroom doesn’t get direct sunlight so I put my cakes in there and open the windows to air the room. Also I do mine quite late at night when it’s a lot cooler
