Wedding cake and sugarpaste flowers

I need to do my first wedding cake and will be making sugarpaste roses and leaves to go on top of cake. How do I arrange them on top? Don’t want to spike into cake using the plastic spikes, Paul’s cake uses resal flowers and oasis. Does anyone have any suggestions for sugarpaste flowers.

Hello tina1990

If you’re not wiring the flowers they can be placed directly on the cake using either royal icing or ganache as glue.

Another way is as Paul does here, although I think he is using modelling chocolate but sugarpaste can also be used.
