wedding topper

Hi, I have successfully (amazed!) made a bride and groom from sugar dough, and they are quite heavy. They are to go on top of a 7 inch fondant covered sponge cake with cupcakes on rest of tower. I am assuming I should cover a cake card with fondant, let it dry and then attach the figures with dabs of royal icing? Then I assume I dowel the sponge cake and place the topper on at the final point – is this right? Thank you!

Hi annescakes 1

That would be the wise thing to do, you wouldn’t want the bride and groom sliding down into the cake! x
