Hi Paul,
I have just watched your lesson on the westie dog. I was at the show Saturday and seen the west is entered in the competition and I was wondering about the dogs coat. Can you please explain the method used by Bettina Evans for such a fantastic appearance?

I saw the video from CI in which Paul says that the lady who made the westie dog rolled the fondant by hand to make the hair. I didn’t hear him state a specific technique although you can do it using a cake smoother. Instead of using your hand to roll a small amount of paste back and forth to achieve a long thin strand, use a cake smoother. It works much faster and creates an even strand. Alternatively, a potato ricer will also make effective strands. Take a peek at the highland cow tutorial to see how well it works. Hope this helps.
