What am I doing wrong? Fondant related

Hiya,

A few times I have covered cakes and it seems to crack slightly on the edges around the top of a round cake. Am I doing something wrong? Is it the fondant? Any advice would be fab.

Hello Favoursansfrills

There are some useful tips here http://www.cakeflix.com/questions/fondant-cracking-2. It could be the fondant you’re using or perhaps you may be using a little too much icing sugar when rolling out. I use Regal Ice or Satin ice and find it goes on very smoothly. If you follow Paul’s tutorials and see how he uses the fondant smoothers will give better results. The bake o glide suggestion in the link is really good if you’d like to try it.
