Welcome to the Cake Decorators Q&A
What is the best type of cake tin?
Hi,
I need to invest in some more square tins and currently have a couple of PME anodised aluminium pans with the slightly rounded corners and one Invicta pan made of heavy tin plate with much squarer corners. Does anyone have advise as to which material is better for baking cakes? Any advise would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

Hi rebekah6
A lot of the professional bakers like Mrs Jones endorse the Invicta cake tins. I’m sure I’ve also heard Paul saying the same. I’ve never heard any negative feedback about them. If I was starting over again I would definitely go for the heavy duty Invicta for a more even conductivity of heat. I have various brands of light anodised aluminum pan and some Alan Silverwood shaped and multi tins. My hubby uses their loaf pans for our bread, we both find them excellent products. I’m sure other members will share their favourites brands.
Thank you so much for this, your advise was really helpful. I think moving forward Invicta tins it will be 🙂
I don’t think you will be disappointed! Too late for me now, I can’t justify the cost. 🙂
