Welcome to the Cake Decorators Q&A
Will cupcakes stay fresh in a card cupcake box?
Hello everybody
I’m doing some cupcakes for a friend but I am only able to drop them off the day before she will be eating them. I’m going to be piping a swirl and putting “50’s” made out of flower paste on top. If I deliver the cakes in a cupcake box will the cakes go stale at all? Or if I deliver them in a airtight box the decorations may go soft and lose shape. Any ideas or tips would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks! 🙂

Hi laureamorris1109
The cupcakes will not become stale in one day, they’ll be fine and your friend will still be able to enjoy them. If you put them in an air tight plastic box it is likely some of the the cakes may pull away from the wrappers and decorations might soften, depends how long they’ve been drying out. A cake box is much better to keep everything ventilated.
