In the monsters in a bed cake the antennae are wires pushed straight into fondant, I was always told never to do that, is it ok , am I being to fussy?
It is a great cake!

I don’t think these little monsters are for eating, they are decoration so it’s fine to put the wires in. The wires are not being inserted into the cake itself. The recepient of the cake must be advised of the inedibles and monsters removed from the cake prior to cutting. Wires should not be placed directly into cakes or any pieces which are intended for eating. If you’d like the monsters to be edible, make the antennae with a little gum paste or use tiny posy picks in which to hold the wires.
