Airbrush or edible printer?

Hello,
I’ve been wanting an airbrush and edible printer for a while now and have managed to put aside enough money to buy one or the other. I’m a hobby baker. Just wondering what I should prioritise. In your experience what do you use the most? I’m forever buying pme lustre sprays, would an airbrush replace the need for that?
Going to Birmingham CI in Nov and thought there would be a good place to look xx

hello, I am a hobby baker too, and I bought the airbrush (well asked for it for valentine’s day…!!) and I am happy with.don’t use it on every thing but as I am not bat at painting or drawing I thought a printer would be useful only in rare ocasions. And you can buy edible images but can not buy the effects of an airbrush….!
hope that helps 😉

Hi lorna

I’m a hobby baker too and although the thought of owning an airbrush is most appealing I think an edible printer would have more uses. I’ll be looking at the dinkydoodle airbrush machine at the show, my hubby is dead keen but I would really like the edible printer. Perhaps he can one and I’ll have the other! x

Hi, I’ve never thought about an edible printer, but did get a Cassie Brown airbrush 2 years ago at the NEC. Haven’t used it as much as I would like but have been really pleased with the finished result when I have used it. I have heard you must be careful about using lustres in an airbrush as these can clog the spray. I’m going to look out for airbrush lustres colours if I go to the NEC in November. x

Thank you all for your input, will continue you to have a think. Might go for the airbrush as it’s easier to store. Will see what offers are available at the cake show. Thanks again 🙂 xx

Hi, I know that you can get a complete edible printer, ink, rice paper icing sheets etc for about £130
I have an airbrush that I use every now and then and it’s great, but I am now also adding an edible ink printer to my collection You really need to sit down and ask yourself what you want to do with a) the printer and b) the airbrush. Once you can answer that, you should be able to answer the question. You can always go for the airbrush and order ready printed sheets of icing off the internet. I hope that this helps
