Welcome to the Cake Decorators Q&A
Bulk Flower paste
Hi,
Does any one know the best place to buy bulk flower paste please? I have a huge amount of flowers to make and it seems absolutely everywhere is out of stock of Satin Ice 2.5kg flowerpaste, I would happily use renshaws or another brand but can only seem to find them in really small packs. Even the bulk discount on cake stuff doesn’t seem to make it a great price. Any ideas would be really appreciated, thanks xx

Alternatively you could make your own from scratch. See some recipes here:
….. or use the Wilton petal paste powder : http://www.hobbycraft.co.uk/wilton-gum-paste-mix/574333-1000
Hope some of the suggestions help.
Hi Claire
I’m not very experienced but I made my daughters 3 teir wedding cake 4 years ago and a another four same cakes since then .
I used Edna De La Cruz’s recipe. I used this gumpaste to make all flower decorations ie roses, carnations, snowflakes etc
It’s 2 lbs of icing sugar
4 large egg whites
12 level tablespoons Tylos powder
And cisco for your hands at kneeling point (I used trex and it was great)
Let rest overnight, well wrapped in cling film then in poly bag in the fridge overnight.
This dose keep well for at least 4- 6 months in refrigerator
Good luck. It’s very easy to make. Watch on YouTube.
