Hi Woodysmum

That’s correct. Alcohol evaporates and leaves no residue. However, there are other carriers that can be used to make paint. I use melted cocoa butter, trex or even a small amount of a very light oil or water. It depends on the surface on which you are painting. Bearing in mind, anything oily like trex or oil will easily smudge when first applied. Over time it will absorb into buttercream or sugarpaste leaving the paint on the surface. What are you painting?

Hi I’m painting a Sugarpaste rope trim

Use the alcohol for that. It’s not a big surface and the alcohol will completely evaporate. X
