My daughter is getting married later this year and Iv thought about using the carousel cake design with quite a few changes to it. My question is, can anyone tell me if there is a uk site or shop where I can purchase the electric turntable please? The one Paul mentions is a uk website but very expensive. Any help appreciated. It has a carry 10k weight and resolution of two turns per minute. They do have bigger ones which are still a lot less expensive than the tutrorial turntable. It comes from Hong Kong very quickly, they delivered within the week and they’re also very helpful. I asked for a UK plug which they did at no extra cost. My carousel is for a Christening in February and has been the least stressful cake preparations I’ve had the pleasure of making.

Thank you. We did take a look on the site you mentioned. Did you buy the black ten inch one? I was just wondering if its possible to ice it as in the tutorial?

I’ve bought the silver one. I’m not going to ice it, instead I’ve iced and decorated a 12″ half depth dummy for the cake to sit on, it’ll be stuck down. For extra stability I’m putting a long dowel all the way through the dummies and cake. The total height will be the same as in the tutorial. The company which Paul used also have a hire service, albeit still a bit expensive. They charge £130.00 + vat for 7 day hire which includes courier delivery and return from any where in the country. There are several other companies which offer a similar service and may be cheaper. I just googled ‘turntable hire service’.

Thankyou for your help as always. I did google turntable hire service but haven turned up anything yet. I have plenty of time yet to look around but would like to buy/hire it sooner rather than later. I had the same idea of using a cake dummy on top of the turntable to give the whole structure extra height so thanks for your advice.
