Cascading flowers on wedding cake

Good morning … When doing a cascade of flowers on wedding cake do you insert each flower individually … I know they have to be inserted into posy pics or straws just think it’s a lot of hole being created or is that the norm thanks have a great day x

Hi Julietame

You’d need to wire several flowers together to make a short cascading arrangement. Each arrangement would need to be supported in a posy pick at strategic points to take the weight of the cascade.
Have a look at Paul’s tutorial on how to wire flowers together here:

Clematis Wedding Cake ‘Nancy’

Alternatively make unwired flowers and cascade them down as you’d like the arrangement to look. Use either royal icing or tempered white chocolate as glue to stick them against the cake. Best tutorial for this method peek here : http://www.cakeflix.com/online-cake-decorating-courses/white-chocolate-shard

Hope this helps.
