Lactose free alternative?

Hello Paul
I have a lactose intolerance and have to use lactose free butters, milk and cream for my baking. Your cake recipe uses buttermilk, would the flavour be compromised if I use lacto-free milk instead?

Members who have exchanged alternative ingredients have posted that the flavour is not compromised.
To be absolutely certain it may be better to make a small trial tasting cake.
