Hi Paul
Can you suggest a recipe for a PLAIN wedding cake top teir.
I’ve suggested lemon cake, carrot cake etc etc but the bride’s mum
Only likes plain cake. It will need to be 8″ x 4″ deep
Many thanks. The two other teirs are your chocolate cake recipe yum yum
And carrot cate. Brides choice.

When you say a plain cake, do you mean one without any filling? For an easy sponge cake recipe try this one:

I’ve made this recipe on numerous occasions as a plain cake to accompany a cup or tea or coffee. It has a slightly denser texture than a fluffy sponge cake and is perfect as a wedding tier.
