Hi cazhga, you would be best to try Fondarific to cover the cake as it is a lot less liable to tear or crack. It can be expensive, but worth it to get the finish you are after. Try http://www.buynbake.com/fondarific-fondant-96-c.asp

Hope this helps.

Fondarific is extortionately expensive. I’ve also tried Squires own brand (which I find too crumbly) and Satin Ice (which I personally like). Have you tried Satin Ice? Cheapest I have found is on www.thegreatcakewarehouse.co.uk

There is also Carmas Massa Ticino Tropic which Paul used in the Vintage Pearl wedding cake tutorial. If you type in the search box the name of the fondant you will be taken to two answers which will give you the suppliers details. Hope this helps.
