Hi all, I am new to this membership but love baking cakes, could anyone give me the precise ingredients for the perfect 10″ square sponge please…preferable one cake for me to cut in half. Many thanks.

Mrs Jones has a lovely sponge cake recipe in the baking section. Also if you put in the search box ’10” vanilla sponge cake’, there is an answer there which may be helpful to you. The recipe can be converted to a square tin by using either the ready reckoner or cakeometre in this blog http://www.cakeflix.com/blog/how-to-work-out-what-size-cake-tin-to-use.
