5” deep tin

Good afternoon

I am making a rich Jamaican rum cake in a 5” deep tin. How many eggs would I need?

I can work out the rest of measurements/weights from the eggs.

Thank you

Hi Judes

Unfortunately, you haven’t given the diameter of the cake tin being used, just the depth. On this information, if you already have a recipe, use the Cakeflix calculator to re-scale that recipe to the depth you need. The calculator is here:

Cake Calculators

Select the recipe re calculator option.

Alternatively, for Jamaican rum cake, based on recipes I’ve seen, you would require, 1 medium egg (50 grams in shell) for every 100 grams of flour used.

I hope this helps. If you need more information please ask again. 🙂
