best type of letter cutters

HI
In the past I have bought cutters and moulds and have then been disapointed with them.
Can anyone recommend the best type to buy.
I have a set on the stainless steel ones, but need something a bit different.

Thanks
Jackie

PS Where is the best place to buy at a reasonable price.
(This was done after it had been answered. Thankyou )

Hi Jackie. I have a collection of stainless steel and FMM Tappit alphabet cutters. FMM cutters come in different fonts i.e. funky, script, uppercase, lowercase etc. These cutters are designed to be used on very thinly rolled out floral paste, but I have successfully used these cutters with thinly rolled out gumpaste. Tappit cutters are a little more fiddly to work with than stainless steel but the results are different and in my opinion better and more adventurous! Happy cutting!

Hi Jackie
Like yourself I’ve bought quite a lot of cutters as I found some really difficult to work with. I ‘ve found the clikstix cutters to work the best for me. I’ve now got the hang of them and love them. I think it’s all down to individual choice as I never used to like moulds either. Once I finally got the hang of them I ‘ve used them all the time, I love them now.
I can’t say I’ve got a particular place I buy them from as I buy bits and pieces from all over. I usually look at eBay first though.
Hope this helps

Hi Jackie

I use Cake-Stuff.com to buy a lot of my sugarcraft equipment and supplies. they seem to be the cheapest around and i have always found their deliveries very reliable. They have both the FMM Tappitts and the Clixstix.

Personally i prefer the Tappitts, i couldnt get on with the click stix and got so frustrated they went in the bin!!! They have metal and plunger cutters too.

hope that helps 🙂
