Hi all, I’ve been asked to make a bin pet cake

was wondering the best way to do the eyes on stalks? Any ideas would be much appreciated

I think i’d probably do them with plastic dowels or try doing cake pops on long sticks. Either way the stick part can be wrapped in fondant.

How about cakepops as the eyes and the sticks would serve as the stalks? You could also insert wire into gumpaste or fondant (make sausages) to make the stalks, and a ball of fondant for the eyes. Use posy picks to hold them into the cake. The designer handbag handle tutorial shows how to insert wires into a sausage of fondant, or you can roll out a thick piece of icing the required length of the wire, place the wire onto the fondant and enclose it by rolling it in the fondant until you get the shape. Couple of ideas, any good??? x
