Cake board

Hi

I want to reuse a cake board but what is the best way to cover it and what do I use so the icing will stick onto it?

Thank you

Hi!
I recently saw a video about this, they use decorative foil to cover a board. You mean a board and not a drum, right? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Q5HIlFsD30

Why would you need the icing to “stick” onto it? usually after you cover the cake with sugarpaste/fondant, the cake “grows” a little in size so you can’t see the cake board under it.

Hi Laurab 1

The foil used for recovering boards is of a different quality to normal kitchen foil. Local cake decorating stores usually stock the foil or it can be bought online http://www.thecakedecoratingcompany.co.uk/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=8393
Once you’ve covered the board stick a piece of parchment paper on the back to conceal all the edge for a neater finish. Take a look at a new board as a guide.
