Hi There, was just wondering if the chocolate cake can be done in cupcakes as well.

Hi Debbie

The ten inch cake bakes for two hours, I think the twelve inch will take approximately two hours forty-five/fifty minutes. It will have had time to set up at this point so you can check it for doneness. Don’t open the oven too wide when you’re checking, and close it gently without making a draught if it needs to bake a little longer.
Just to remind you also that Paul bakes in a non fan assisted oven at 150c, if your oven is fan assisted the temperature should be reduced by approx 20 degrees or what the manufactures hand book advises.

Hi Debbie!
I made this for the first time the other day and put the entire mixture into an 11″ square tin and baked it for 2 hours. It came out fabulous!

Thanks for your recommendations , I have it in the oven just now so will let you know how it turns out!
I have made it before with a 10″ and 6″ and didn’t realise that Paul’s oven was not fan assisted so I baked at 150 in my fan oven, it came out perfect but have since put an oven thermometer in the oven and what should be 150 is more like 130 so maybe that’s why it was ok?
Thanks again!

Baked the 12″ for 2hrs then checked, it seemed ok but just baked for an extra 20 mins to be on the safe side. When I cut it in half it was perfect! Also kept fan oven at 150 but as I said my oven temps are probably a bit off.
Thanks for all the advice x
