Costing cake sizes

Hi,

When you are making a cake and changing the size of the cake say 8 inch round to 10 inch square and say it’s x0.4 to get to your target cake size, ( just an example).

Would this be the same for the costing of the cake ingredients?

Maybe someone has links to portion size charts etc?

Hi Paul

If a cake is scaled up, more ingredients are used so it is more expensive to produce. To scale ingredients up or down you may find the following conversions chart helpful:
