Dark chocolate ganache under fondant

I want to try and use ganache instead of buttercream to see if I can achieve nice sharp edges for a cake I am doing. The fondant will be pale coloured. Is it ok to use milk/dark chocolate or should I use white ganache? Sorry to sound stupid, but I have never used ganache to cover a cake before. Thank you.

It’s fine to use fondant over any type of ganache, you can see an answer from David here http://www.cakeflix.com/questions/dark-choc-ganache-with-white-fondant.
