Hi was asked to make a pug dog cake. Is there any plans for animal cakes on the tutorials

I’ve never made a dog cake, but some of them on the internet look very real. Until you find your tutorial, how about using a cake topper, like these http://www.clayfigurines.com/assets/images/cake-toppers-gallery-2/Dog-cake-toppers.html

I’ve also got a Debbie Brown book with the cake being a large dog bone, and a modeled dog draped over it. Just a couple of ideas anyway 🙂

Hi, searching the www I found this http://sweetbeascustomcakes.blogspot.co.uk/2011/11/my-pug-cake-making-journey.html It’s a start!  If you google ‘pug dog cake’ images there are some good ones to give you an idea.

Will look to add a dog to the tutorials. There’s a bit of a list started so will have a voting system once the new forum gets set up soon. Px

Thanks for all the answers. Made the cake yesterday and the painting was not great but maybe I should look at airbrushing soon. Wonder if Paul has airbrushing  classes ?
