i am going to attempt the Sandal high heel shoe, but I would like to know if I can leave the sole of the shoe to dry for a week before adding the straps and back. Will they still stick to the dry sole?

I’ve made several shoes and have always let the sole dry first before adding the other pieces and so far haven’t experienced any problems doing it this way. I use either royal icing or strong edible glue made with tylose/CMC or gum tragacanth. If using royal icing wash away any excess with a damp paint brush. If using glue, let it become tacky and then stick on the straps. The back sticks better with royal icing, just support it for a while until it adheres.
