Edible Paint

Hi, does anyone have any experience of using edible paint? I am painting it directly on to sugharpaste but it goes really gloopy and if you go over the same area it pulls the other paint off. I’ve done 2 coats already and it still looks really patchy. Is there some sort of technique I don’t know about or something I should add to it? Thanks 🙂 xx

I find it better to make your own edible paint. I do this by mixing lustre dust or petal dust with lemon extract. You can use any white alcohol to make pain eg gin or vodka or even rejuvenator spirit. Lemon extract has a high alcohol content so it dries really quickly and smells divine. You must let the first coda completely dry before applying a second coat.

You can thin your edible paint with rejuvenator spirit.

Hope this helps.
