Extra batter

With extra batter, of one recipe, which I want to bake into cupcakes, can these be baked together with a 6” cake at 160*? The recommended baking time for the 6” cake is 50 minutes.

Hi CiNTaMaNis

I wouldn’t recommend putting cupcakes in with a 6” cake. The cupcakes will take approximately 20 minutes by which time the centre of the 6” will not have set and, will sink if you open the oven door. You could bake your CCs first and hold the cake. It will be alright to hold for that short period of time. Just keep the batter cool, not refrigerated , to keep the rising agent from reacting.
