I am determined to master sculpting a face, I have checked out numerous tutorials, and some are using a colour shaper to sculpt the face. There are numerous sizes, shapes, firm & soft ones available – can anyone recommend what I should get

I think it would be better to go to a local art supplies store and discuss your needs with trained staff. As you’ve pointed out, there are numerous types of shapers, which ones you need would depend on the medium you intend using. For lots of information on colour shapers and their uses just google ‘which colour shapers are best for sculpting?’
