I also make my own cake release (again, you have to love the power of the Internet!)

I really don’t like aerosols and so, to use them anywhere near my cakes was big no, no for me.  So far after many, many cakes being baked while I’ve used my own version, I have yet to have a cake stick anywhere in the tin; and that includes my giant NordicWare cupcake tin!

Would you like to give it a go too with my recipe?

Thanks for replying MadeItWithLove, Sharon54 & Nicnak,  you’re going to be surprised just how easy this little fella is!

Simply take equal quantities (e.g. a cup measure) of plain flour, vegetable oil & hard white fat (Trex). Blitz together then apply to your tins with a pastry brush.  Keep at room temperature (not in the fridge).  Lasts for AGES!

I said it was simple, didn’t I? 🙂

I would love to give your recipe a try. I don’t like sprays either, I find they make a dreadful sticky mess of the tin. Thank you for your recipe, I wait for your post.

They sell Trex in Tesco & Asda too just look for the white box with blue,
