Lustre sheen

Hi everyone,Iv’e been trying to buy the 95% alcohol that Faye Cahill uses in her tutorial to make her lustre paintl but can’t find it anywhere locally.I’ve looked online and Amazon looks like they have 99.9% under beauty and Pharmacy but not sure if this would be ok to use on a cake!
Any advice on where I can get this or a substitute would be much appreciated.

Hi lynn-fraser

I’m not sure about the stuff which can be bought in pharmacies even though it says food grade. It’s used as a rubbing solution and also in cosmetics. I wouldn’t use it on cake unless I know for certain that it can be used safely.
I use rejuvinator spirit from sugarflair and Culpitts dipping solution as seen here:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sugarcraft-Edible-Dipping-Solution-Rejuvinator/dp/B0036HQXCI
I also use a high grade vodka for painting and cleaning cake.
Hope this helps
