Massa ticino colour

I need ivory sugarpaste. I have used Renshaws celebration in the past but wonder how close the colour of the vintage Massa paste is? I don,t want the paste to be too creamy but would like to follow Pauls advice for my next wedding cake.

Hi Phillipratcliffe

I’ve never compared the two so not able to say how much they may differ. Best thing I find is to buy one of each and make a comparison. Most of the online decorating stores who stock both brands are very helpful and will be able to advise you. Cake Stuff keep both brands. Other members, I’m sure will also give the benefit of their experience.

Hi Phillipratcliffe,

By coincidence we have Bettina from Germany, one of the Massa Ticcino champions filming with us this week. She says that the Massa vintage is very creamy, but can be softened down by adding some white. It really is worth trying the Massa, but if your primary concern is the colour then best stick to Renshaws for this one and use the Massa as a trial cake.
