Nicholas lodge products

I am interested in buying a product from Nicholas Lodge, can you tell me where I can purchase anything in the UK, it is a very thin slightly textured mat that he uses to roll out flowerpaste on.

Thank you,

Hi nicky223

There are several online shops who keep tools used by Nick Lodge. There’s The Vanilla Valley, The cake decorating company, Windsor cake craft , Squires Kitchen and possibly Cake stuff. However, I’m not sure whether these are tools specifically designed by him or whether they are from other companies like Pavoni Magic Decor and Katy Sue designs. Pavoni Magic Decor have a lot of textured mats. If you could link me to the product to which you are referring, I would be able to tell whether it is one of his tools or someone else’s. He does have his own web site in USA where enquires could be made about his products and where to buy them in the UK

Hope the suggestions are of some use. If you are able to give me a link I can find out more for you.

I have checked his own website and the other sites that you suggested but can’t find anything, I watch his classes on Craftsy making roses and that is where I have seen the mat, it is a green one which suggests to me that it is one of his own makes , I would be grateful if you could find out for me please.

Many thanks,

Hi nicky223

Nick Lodges website is a bit awkward to navigate but I think this is what you’re looking for, it’s called a tapit mat and comes in green or yellow:

I haven’t been able to find it anywhere else apart from him. To be honest, it looks exactly like my flexible plastic chopping mats which are also slightly textured :

Is this similar or is he using a silicone mat? Which Craftsy class is it? He has several but he does use the same things in all his tutorials.

Thank you for looking , it’s on his crafty class called The Ultimate Rose, as you say it does look like the flexible cutting mat, if all else fails I will try one of these. I see he will be demonstrating on the new cake doctor programme at some time, I really enjoyed Ceri yesterday., always something new to learn.

I’ve been searching for it most of this evening and still haven’t had any luck. I don’t know what the cake doctor programme is, didn’t know it existed! Is that on tv? I’ve sent Chef Nick an email so I’m hoping he/ or his staff will have some time to reply. I’ll let you know as soon as someone gets in touch.

Thank you for your continued help, Cake Doctor is a new thing on FB and there are a panel of well known Cake Decorators who answer your questions, and a dem by one of them once a month, it has only started a few weeks ago,but very helpful and addictive .

Thank you,

HI nicky123

Thank you so much for letting me know about this Cake Doctor. I had no idea it existed. I don’t actually have a personal facebook account, however, I’m sure my hubby will let me have a look at it from his. This sounds very interesting. I still haven’t had an answer from Nick Lodges website, he’s obviously very busy! Thanks again x

I see Nicholas is on holiday that’s why he hasn’t responded, Sheila Jones is also on the Cake Doctor advice team, its definitely worth a look.

Hi Nicky I have just read your message regarding N.L green board.
I think you will find it is a food chopping board which you can purchase from any supermarket store. They normally come in packs of 2 or 3 . They are brilliant for fondant as the fondant does not stick to the board. I use it all the time?.
Hope this helps.

Thanks for adding candy1. I’ve given Nicky a link for flexi boards as you will see from my reply above. I’ve got several similar boards, they’re inexpensive and good to work on. 🙂

Thank you, I will look at these boards.
