Paul’s Chocolate Cake

I’m going to try Paul’s chocolate cake for my son’s birthday cake, and would like to make an 8×3 inch round cake. Paul’s recipe is for a 10″ and 6″ round cakes. Have looked at the reckoner to try and convert to an 8inch round but maths is not my strong point so gave up. Has anyone made Paul’s cake for an 8x3inch round cake?

Hi hopkinj3,
Paul’s chocolate cake recipe also makes 1×10″ square cake, and if you use that to convert your size using the ready reckoner you will see that you need to times all your ingredients by 0.6 to get the correct amounts for a round 8″ cake. You can also convert recipe sizes (including height) using the cake converter found here: www.cakebaker.co.uk/baking-tin-size-conversion-calculator.html. Hope that helps!
