Hi, I have been watching the pro course videos but cant seem to find the answers to my questions and I’m getting very confused as to where to go next – any advice would be greatly appreciated please.

Can/does a sole trader register with companies house? If so what is the benefit of doing so? I have heard that to protect your company name you can register a limited company with companies house but leave it as dormant and carry on trading as a sole trader..is this correct? The name of the company is then there for you if you ever wish to become a limited company.

Also can a sole trader trademark their name and logo if no one has trade marked it already?

I realise this is more the business side of things…
